Steven Feld (born 1949) is an ethnomusicologist,
anthropologist,
filmmaker,
photographer,
musician, and
sound artist; he is also Distinguished Professor of Anthropology Emeritus at the University of New Mexico. His work in rainforest Papua New Guinea and jazz in West Africa is presented equally in books, CDs, and films.
