Willem's satirical drawings on art. The limited edition is accompanied by an original and unique signed artwork, hand colored comic strip box.
The satirical cartoonist Willem, regular illustrator at
Charlie Hebdo and
Libération, but also at
Beaux-Art Magazine, is a prolific drawer. He proposes, in his book
Les Emmerdeurs (the hecklers), scathing and cynical, but also realistic, portraits of fifteen international artists, from Salvador Dalí to Tracey Emin, from
Otto Dix to
Jacques Villeglé. With his usual mordant glaze which earned him the Prix de l'Humour Noir, in 1996, this Dutch artist catches with virtuosity comical paradoxes, hypocrisy, opportunism and love of money which are common in the art circles. This is fierce and humorous, mixing comics and short stories about his personal artistic experience.
