A member of the
New Realists and a friend of
Raymond Hains, Jacques Villeglé (1926-2022), a pioneer of urban art, has been recognized mainly as a "collector" of posters taken down from the walls, torn up and reorganized in order to appropriate these "reflections of the dominant culture" and to make typographic components emerge that had become abstract.
