Publication gathering five conference performances, written in French and English, by the Franco-Korean duo of artists and researchers Ju Hyun Lee and Ludovic Burel, whose works combine installations, performances, and publications.
Within their research project KVM—whose post-identity acronym varies with the projects in the Korean Vitra Museum, Korean Vocal Museum, Korean Vernacular Museum, and so on—, they present a critical examination of the status of design. The term applies equally to objects and behaviours, in both the cultural and managerial spheres. Interested in
post-colonial issues, in the vein of one of its principal theoreticians, Homi K. Bhabha, they pursue an approach of “mimicry”(“almost the same but not quite”), and “sly civility”.
Ludovic Burel (born 1968 in Lille) is an artist, educator, publisher and co-founder of
it: éditions.
Ju Hyun Lee is a South Korean artist who works with cultivated and/or wild plants, exploring all possible aesthetic, gustatory and convivial experiences.
