Johannes Bauer, Isabelle Duthoit, Luc Ex - Bouge (CD)
The lyrical and earthy flight of Isabelle Duthoit, the furious growls of Johannes Bauer's dandy trombone, the electrifying stripes of Luc Ex, the legendary founder of Dutch group The Ex, produce a passionate musical mix, of wild melodies and furious ups and downs, abrupt collisions and sharp ruptures, a lively and joyful sound engaging the listener at every moment.
Luc Ex: acoustic bass.
Isabelle Duthoit: voice, clarinet.
Johannes Bauer: trombone.

Recorded in the CCAM studio for the 28th edition of the Musique Action festival.

Johannes "Hannes" Bauer was a German free jazz trombonist (1954-2016).
Isabelle Duthoit trained as a classical clarinetist and has always been interested in the voice. She has developed a singular vocal technique, seeking "a language before language, a voice of origin". She has collaborated with Georges Aperghis, Gilbert Amy, Daniel d'Adamo and Klaus Huber, then turned to free improvisation, working with many artists of the international experimental scene such as Phil Minton, Dieb13 or Angelica Castello. She is a member of several groups such as Hiatus, Système Friche, Where is the sun, Uruk, Iki, NYX. She regularly performs in dance and theater.
Dutch acoustic bass player Luc Ex (born 1958) was a original member of the experimental post-punk band The Ex. Since 2003, he has been pursuing his experiments in solo or through numerous collaborations.
