The new solo work of the French musician Pascal Battus: four pieces composed exclusively with cymbals, producing different types of resonances and as many sound expanses.
French sound artist, improviser, and composer Pascal Battus develops a practice of sound that is more attentive to the sonic gesture, to listening, and to the situation that determines them, rather than to a defined instrument: the guitar pick-up (a guitar microphone without a guitar), rotating surfaces, the "environed" guitar (an electric guitar on a table + contact microphone + various objects + electronics), percussion (amplified or non-amplified objects)… He has performed in Europe, the United States of America, Canada, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, both solo and more frequently with other musicians.
