A collaboration between Christophe Brunnquell (Purple art director) and Grégoire Alexandre (photographer) who recompose fashion imagery by dressing their models with images taken from the archives of Vogue Paris, thus creating new ambiguous icons.
By tearing down, ripping off, cutting and pasting photographies from a 20 year pile of Vogue Paris they recreate and recompose new fashion icons. In times where paper support is vanishing, >°Gu∑ exploits its creative potentialities, gives volume back to flat images and in a spontaneous, satiristic and raw gesture, proposes new forms of beauty.
Grégoire Alexandre (born 1972, lives and works in Paris) is a photographer working for the press (Wallpaper, Vanity Fair, Esquire UK, Libération, Le Monde d'Hermès, GQ, Beaux-Arts Magazine, Yummy...), in the record industry (collaborating with Etienne Daho, Metronomy, Yelle, Yann Tiersen, Bertrand Burgalat, or April March) and in advertising.
Christophe Brunnquell (born 1969, lives and works in Paris) is a versatile artist working as much in the press and artistic consulting as in photography or fashion. He is the artistic director of Purple Fashion.
