Publication introducing the synthesis of a project inspired by the artistic and intimate experience of
Hans Hartung and
Anna-Eva Bergman on the island of Menorca, where they built a house-workshop and lived in from 1932 to 1934.
Published following the eponymous exhibition at
Frac Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Marseille, from January 17 to February 28, 2017.
Since 2008, Pascale Stauth (born 1965 in Toury, France) & Claude Queyrel (born 1964 in Gap, France) have been engaged in a reflection around the representation of the couple. Crossing myths, legends, and pictures, they constituted the Semaphores series, a symbolic alphabet based from nuptial attributes found in diverse cultures. They live and work in Marseille.
Texts by Wilhelm Meister, Teresa Farner, Pascale Stauth, Claude Queyrel, Jean-Charles Agboton-Jumeau, conversation between the artist and Kirsten A.
