L'Appel de Dakar

L\'Appel de Dakar Barthélémy Toguo - L\'Appel de Dakar
Barthélémy Toguo's address to the African Ministers of Culture for a better recognition of art and African artists on the Continent.
In L'Appel de Dakar, Barthélémy Toguo harangues the Ministers of Culture of African countries. Raising the alarm, he warns them about “the urgent need to support African contemporary art”. Emphasizing on the importance of culture and arts in the international influence, he calls out for the establishment of financial and legal mesures to allow African artists to haul themselves to an international level. With this text, Barthelemy Toguo extends the work he carried out in his cultural center in Cameroon, Bandjoun Station, in order to bring closer cultures and men through the art, fight against deforestation, and support local agriculture.
The work of Barthelemy Toguo (born 1967 in Cameroon, lives and works between Paris and Bandjoun) is protean, colorful, multicultural, deeply committed, and based on a reflection on the destiny of the humanity, travels, and on the way the world is working.
