Chen Zhen talks to
Daniel Buren, Hou Hanru, Eleonor Heartney, Emma Lavigne, Ken Lum, Enrico Lunghi, Yves Michaux,
Hans-Ulrich Obrist, Jérôme Sans and Nari Ward and others who shared his adventure in art. In this collection of significant discussions held between 1990 and 2000, each participant developed in his or her own way some of the themes that are essential to the work of the artist. The whole shows the trend in his thinking and provides information about a body of work whose multiple centres ceaselessly provide new perspectives.
Published on the occasion of the exhibition “Chen Zhen – Silence Sonore” at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris, in 2003-2004.
Chen Zhen was born in 1955 in Shanghai. He arrived in Paris in 1986, where he died in 2000 after a long illness.
