Architecture and Time

Architecture and Time - Architecture and Time
Contributions by architects, philosophers and artists on the theme of time and architecture (conceptualized temporality, temporality in Japan, consideration of time in the architectural projects, new temporalities of public space...).
“Architecture and Time” assembles eleven contributions by architects, philosophers and artists presented during an eponymous symposium organized on October 10th and 11th 2011 by the Frac Franche-Comté. This moment of reflection fell within the scope of the framework “Frac: next generation #2” : an exhibition assembling architectural projects of the Fracs Bretagne, Centre, Franche-Comté, Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Provence-Alpes-Côtes d'Azur developed by the Maison de l'architecture of Lille and presented at the IUFM of Franche-Comté in Besançon from September 15th to October 19th 2011. The theme tackled takes root in the geographical context: history of Time Keeping in Franche-Comté, echoing the orientation of the Frac's collections, which, since 2006 has placed an important accent on the problematic of Time, underlining the preponderant role this dimension plays in the thought and creations of Kengo Kuma, architect at the City of Arts in Besançon.
Contributions by Elie During, Kengo Kuma, Christine Buci-Glucksmann, Sophie Houdart, Florian de Pous / Lacaton & Vassal Agency, Alain Bublex, Flavien Le Bouter, Joël Garnier, Jean-Sébastien Cluzel, León Arellano-Lechuga, Bruno Marzloff.
