Artist's book.
“…I'm a lover of images, too, the proof being on view at the galerie du jour agnès b, and in my collection
of contemporary art. So what a Godsend - what sheer bliss - to be able to reveal Paul-Armand's world here,
complete with commentaries!
For once we find an artist speaking of his model(s) with respect and tenderness, admiringly linking the eternal
feminine to a past inhabited, for him, only by goddesses. Nor are these images dated: thirty years old, some of
theme, and they could have been made yesterday. And then there are Paul-Armand's performances, those joyous
moments when the artist is teased by his model. Paul-Armand plays on the elasticity of time, speaking always of
youth - and always youthfully.”

Paul-Armand Gette (1927-2024), after an early career in industry, decided to turn, in the early 1960s, to an artistic career, using his knowledge of botany and geology that he introduced into the space of art. An unclassifiable artist, he has played with categories, blurring the boundaries between natural science, literature, poetry, mythology and art history. Painting, sculpture, photography, text, all mediums are convened to propose us a singular reading of the world which surrounds us.
