A project by Paul-Armand Gette around the censorship of the Diane Chasseresse by the artist Jean-Antoine Houdon (1741-1828), whose sex considered too naturalistic was plugged up and filled with bronze rods and then hammered in 1829 when it entered the national collections.
Paul-Armand Gette (1927-2024), after an early career in industry, decided to turn, in the early 1960s, to an artistic career, using his knowledge of botany and geology that he introduced into the space of art. An unclassifiable artist, he has played with categories, blurring the boundaries between natural science, literature, poetry, mythology and art history. Painting, sculpture, photography, text, all mediums are convened to propose us a singular reading of the world which surrounds us.
