492 characters. This book comprises sixty bound pages that are intrinsic to a cultural process of thinking, writing, reading, sending messages, connecting people. Books are an inte- gral part of my art practice. Making books and searching for books means for me a mutual relationship reinforcing each other. Cross-reading fulfils my desire to connect thoughts, words, texts, ideas with the imagination's autonomy and casuality. I cannot stop the pleasure of cross-reading various printed books which opens up possibilities of exploring random combinations and discovering unexpected meanings.
Maurizio Nannucci (born 1939 in Florence), affiliated with
Fluxus, is a leading figure in the Italian analytical and
conceptual art movements. Since the 1960s, he has explored the relationship between art,
language and image.
