A critical history of VideoArt Festival Locarno.
François Bovier is a lecturer and researcher at the History of Cinema Section of the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and a researcher at the
Lausanne University of Art and Design (ECAL). He is the co-founder of the journal
Décadrages, co-director of the
PlanSécant series (MetisPresses), and co-director of the
Cinétisme series (Les presses du réel).
Adeena Mey is a researcher, curator and teacher. Through writing, editorial and curatorial projects, his research engages with the histories, theories and practices of the
moving image,
exhibition studies, cybernetics as well as East and Southeast Asian art histories. His exhibitions include
Neo Geography I&II (with Kyung Roh Bannwart,
Centre d'art Neuchâtel, Switzerland and Post Territory Ujeongguk, Seoul, 2017); VideoArt Festival Locarno: A Prospective (with
François Bovier, Elisarion, Switzerland, 2019). He is Managing Editor of
Afterall Journal, based at Central St Martins, where he leads the Paul Mellon Centre-funded digital research project The Black Atlantic Museum, and a lecturer at
Lausanne University of Art and Design (ECAL), Switzerland. Adeena Mey is co-director of the
Cinétisme series (Les presses du réel).
