Digital Art & Culture(s)International Panorama

 - Digital Art & Culture(s)
This publication offers contemporary and historical overviews of international digital creation.
This publication offers a snapshot of international artistic practices in the digital era for which there are a multitude of possible definitions: digital creation, new media art, emerging art, open art, digital art… or quite simply contemporary art. What are the relationships between art, research and business? What are the economic stakes of digital art? We wanted first to tell the history of digital art. These so-called “emerging” art practices began with the birth of the computer, more than 50 years ago. This journey though time you are about to embark on is accompanied by articles on the connections between art and science and guided by a look at major artists and the works which have profoundly changed the way we see, hear, feel and put forward a vision of the world which expands our own.
This publication will show the diversity of existing practices, the richness of international contemporary art with so many new fields of experimentation open to us: network art, interactive, immersive and generative art, BioArt, NanoArt, new writing, video games, sound art, live audiovisual performance, mapping, augmented reality, interactive design, living art are some examples.
