Mapping collaboration in Swiss art.
This publication uses objects to explore how artwork and authorship are interpreted among artists working in groups or in pairs. The artists were invited to contribute an object to the exhibition that illustrates or symbolizes their definition of joint endeavor.
The selection intentionally waives curatorial criteria for the sake of presenting and comparing the objects that have been collected, somewhat in the fashion of an ethnological investigation.
The central aim of the publication is to show how aspects of collective artistic production are manifested in the objects and the extent to which these differ from conventional concepts of author and work.
