Roland Topor (1938-1997) is a French
drawer, painter, designer, playwright and novelist who also worked for cinema and television. He founded in 1962 the
Panic Movement, along with
Fernando Arrabal and Alexandro Jodorowsky. A prolific poster artist (
Empire of passion,
The Tin Drum) he also collaborated with Fellini on
Casanova's film set. In 1973, he won the special prize at Cannes for his work with René Laloux on
Fantastic Planet. His novel
The Tenant was adapted to film by Roman Polanski in 1976.
