Artist's magazine.
Founded in Naples in 1992 by Gabriele Di Matteo and Franco Silvestro,
& IL TOPO is an artist's journal based on the two principles of participation and inclusion. The publication ended in 1996, only to be reactivated sixteen years later with a new editorial board. Each new issue is now celebrated with international shows and performances (Salon light, Paris; Care/of , Milan; Supportico Lopez, Berlin; Printed Matter and White Box, New York; Venice Biennale; Manifesta, St. Petersburg; as well as historical exhibitions at
Cneai, Chatou, France and Franz Masereel centrum, Kasterlee, Belgium). 2014 is the year of the Topist Manifesto: originally issued in a Korean newspaper, it was also published in its English and French version by
The Journal of Artists' Books #37 and CLA, Rennes. This Manifesto marks the birth of Topism as an international and trans-generational artistic movement.
This new issue of
& IL TOPO consists on a collection of fingerprints from visitors at the first & IL TOPO's exhibition. A meticulous census of all identities who came to the show.
Published following & IL TOPO exhibition at CLA, Rennes, from January 15 to March 19, 2015.
