A project by the Zurich artist duo Huber.Huber— i.e. twin brothers Markus and Reto Huber—and Bern poet Jürg Halter.
The two artists and the author have set their sights on uncovering unusual sides of ordinary goings-on in public space. Artists Huber.Huber took pictures at regular intervals, which poet Jürg Halter then worked into poetic and absurdly humorous vignettes about the photographs. The photographic and literary components of Hoffentlich verliebe ich mich nicht in dich (“I hope I don't fall in love with you”) originally are interwoven into a delightful dialogue in which the whole is far greater than the sum of its parts.
Jürg Halter (born 1980 in Bern, where he lives and works) studied at the Bern Academy of Arts (HKB). Halter is one of the best-known poets and spoken word artists of his generation in the German-speaking world. He has released several publications and has performed in Europe, Africa, Japan, Russia and the USA. He has collaborated with Stephan Eicher, Sophie Hunger, Bettina Oberli, Yves Netzhammer, and Walter Pfeiffer, among others.
Markus and Reto Huber (born 1975 in Münsterlingen, live and work in Zurich) have been working together under the pseudonym Huber.Huber since graduating from the Zurich School of Art and Design (HGK) in 2005. In recent years their collages and drawings in particular, but also sculptural works and installations, have attracted widespread notice. Huber.Huber's multilayered conceptual works habe been featured in a great many solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland and abroad.
