Two texts written at a twenty-year interval.
This publication was produced following the Polish artist Jan Swidzinski's visit to Le Lieu, centre en art actuel, in Quebec City. His visit was an occasion for the artist to share his thoughts on twenty years of conceptual art practice, from 1976 to 1996. The book comprises two texts written at a twenty-year interval. The first and most recent text – Les choses comme elles vont – revisits and updates his thinking on the status of the art, whilst the second part of the book reproduces his 1976 manifesto on contextual art.
