The experiments of an "abstract design" made by the duo Henri Frachon and Antoine Lecharny.
Frachon and Lecharny explore the very essence of form through a radical, experimental approach. Their work rethinks design by focusing not on function but on the intrinsic nature of shape: "How does a hole behave? A hole inside a hole? … Is it the matter that surrounds it, or its constitutive void?". The book is structured into four elemental themes the Hole, the Triangle, the Jonc doucine, and the Dissonance and is framed by their provocative Abstract Design Manifesto, revealing the conceptual backbone of their work.
This publication is more than a catalog; it marks their first major presentation following their recognition as laureates of the Audi Talents Awards.
Published after the eponymous exhibition held at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris, from November 25 to December 5, 2021.
