LandscopeLandscape and Contemporary Drawing

Landscope - Landscope
United around the correlated questions of landscape and drawing, those notoriously commonplace passages in art history, are a number of artists for whom drawing is often just one medium among others, and landscape, a non-exclusive genre. Under the neologistic title “Landscope”, a contraction of the English word “landscape” and “scope” [from the Greek skopein “to behold, to look”], landscape is regarded as both a site and a view.
Considered as an expanded catalogue, the book presents works from artists in the Landscope group exhibition and gathers an essay by Matthieu Poirier and texts on each artist.
Published for the group exhibitions curated by Matthieu Poirier at Thaddeus Ropac Galleries (Paris / Salzburg) in 2008.
