First Aristide Bianchi's monograph, focusing on a plastic gesture born at the turn of the century: the material opening of a sheet of paper meets previous traces to form the drawing.
This is a presentation of the gesture and the drawings that are created from it—through a photo shoot in daylight, and the Book's Design.
These non-figurative drawings solicit the paper in its texture in a way that the book cannot directly render. However, organized in notebooks of 16 pages of two very different papers, one devoted to the reproduction of photographs, the other to the texts, the material of the paper and a heterogeneity are implemented.
These drawings, born from the opening of a sheet, are articulated by one or more hinges; at least a book consists of a folded sheet in two. Here these folds never coincide, let's say they are called respectively.
Aristide Bianchi lives and works in Brussels. His first collective exhibition dates back to 2003 and his first personal one to 2011.
