The Jeu de Paume is an important centre for the dissemination of photography and the image. It adopts an open approach that spans all periods, from the 19th to the 21st century, and all contemporary fields of the image (including photography, cinema, video and installation). Its mission is to produce, co-produce and host exhibitions, film seasons, symposia, pedagogical activities and publications.
It showcases both recognised artists (including
Sophie Ristelhueber,
Martin Parr, Robert Frank,
Jean-Luc Moulène,
Bruno Serralongue, Richard Avedon, Lee Miller, Lisette Model, André Kertész, Diane Arbus, Berenice Abbott, Erwin Blumenfeld and Garry Winogrand) and up-and-coming talents (notably as part of the Satellite programme), attracting a broad and diverse public.
