Jonathan Monk

Autobiography by Jonathan Monk is the first attempt of display of the artist's collection of "Crackers" copies by Ed Ruscha.

A set of photographs of the back covers of Jonathan Monk's books presented turned over. A play of transparency reveals the captions written on the back of each page.

Visual documentation on Jonathan Monk's eponymous exhibition, commissioned by curator Marc-Olivier Wahler on the occasion of the twenty-year anniversary of the CAN Centre d'art Neuchâtel. The British artist revisits an iconic exhibition he did during the first years of the CAN in 1997. The publication confronts the images of the two events.

A compilation of restaurants receipts collected between Rome and Berlin on which the British conceptual artist reproduced images of works by other artists (Luciano Fabro, Donald Judd, Andy Warhol, Jenny Holzer, André Cadere, Maurizio Cattelan…). Far from being innocent, this appropriationist gesture reflects on the art world economics while displaying a panorama of art history, stretching from the 1960s to the present day.
