Valérie Mavridorakis

 
Valérie Mavridorakis is a professor of contemporary art history at Sorbonne University. She has taught at the University of Rennes 2 and at the Geneva University of Art and Design. Her research focuses on American art of the 1960s and 1970s, in relation to diverse cultural issues. Author of numerous articles on artists such as Carl Andre, Richard Artschwager, Donald Judd, Robert Morris, and Robert Smithson, she has edited, among others, the anthology Art et science-fiction: la Ballard Connection (Mamco, 2011). Her editorial work focuses on artists' texts (Mel Bochner, Spéculations, with Christophe Cherix, Mamco, 2004, or Victor Burgin, Scripts, Mamco, 2016).
