This naturalist-inspired publication retraces the artist's career by bringing together the major trends in her work through a rigorous selection of artworks and their constituent elements—raw mineral and plant materials, liquids, and light or sound waves that have undergone slight mutations. To accompany this selection (2009-2021), five texts by Sally Bonn, Hadrien Reyre, Bertand Rigaux, Éric Suchère and Thomas Schlesser punctuate the monograph.
Composed of installations where sound, image and object maintain close and multiple relationships, the work of French artist Cécile Beau (born in 1978) is interested in phenomena that are too slow, too distant or too discrete for the human time scale. She constructs a minimal and sensory work that seizes nature and the cosmos as an object of study and contemplation.
