Masaki Fujihata -
The groundbreaking work of Masaki Fujihata presented as an immersive intermedia experience through augmented reality technology (retrospective monograph under the form of a ring binder, with a dedicated AR application).
In this first monograph on Masaki Fujihata, the entire artist's work can be explored through augmented reality technology (3D models and movies), from the first animation films and computer graphics in the 1980s, until the interactive installations and experiments in 2015 with laser, GPS, Internet or Virtual Reality. The Artist's writings and original essays by French and Japanese critics discuss the radical issues raised by this experimental work.
A new type of book: a ring binder—the very archetype of an archive file—incorporates Augmented reality. A physical book and digital data are connected, allowing the reader to access videos or 3D simulations.
Minimum system requirements: iOS systems (iPad and iPhone).
Masaki Fujihata (born 1956 in Tokyo, lives and works in Kanagawa, Japan) is considered one of the pioneers of Japanese computer art. Fujihata developed his first interactive installations in the early nineties. He uses multimedia strategies to scrutinize the virtual space as a communication space. In his works Fujihata combines artistic ideas with the latest research results of information technology.
