A series of recent paintings by French artist Marion Bataillard.
Despite featuring new, often urban spaces, the characters that populate Marion Bataillard's paintings, alone or in groups, continue to animate her work, to raise both the pictorial and metaphysical question of incarnation: "I like to think of the world like the Creation and its inhabitants like creatures, powerful and powerless at the same time. This makes them lovable to me."
This publication offers numerous pictures of details of the works to explore relationships between form and meaning, body and mind, and even good and evil better, to educate the viewer regarding the miracle of representation. There is an accompanying text by Yves Michaud.
Born 1983 in Nantes, Marion Bataillard lives and works in Paris.
