While the first volume
Avant (
Before) enumerates the artists alphabetically, a raw material of references, analogies or sources of work to be included in the exhibition, this second volume presents the show itself in geographic sequence from the various exhibition spaces of the Lyon Biennale : the expansive Sucrière, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the
Contemporary Art Institute of Villeurbanne, the Rectangle on Place Bellecour and the Musée des Beaux Arts.
The limelight is thrown on the sumptuous illustrations - mostly double page photographs of every work (over 50 artists were invited to participate) as one pursues through each room of each installation. It is a subjective visit interspersed with texts by the various curators who add their salt.
After also implies that the show is up or ended and the gap between the initial intentions and the reality can be measured.
