Ce qui ne sert pas s'oublie / Lo que no sirve se olvida

Ce qui ne sert pas s\'oublie / Lo que no sirve se olvida - Ce qui ne sert pas s\'oublie / Lo que no sirve se olvida
“Ce qui ne sert pas s'oublie” (“What cannot be used is forgotten”) accompanies and extends the reach of the exhibition of the same title. Both deal with the mutating statuses of objects in relation to possible historical narratives, especially those related to colonial past and present and the layers of cultural, spiritual, and identity production that stem from them.
The contributions included here by some of the artists of the exhibition stand autonomously from the artworks as reflections where the very notion of objecthood is discussed through diverse approaches: official and marginal archaeology, syncretic religion, craftsmanship in a specific context, film and the production of images in the context of war, science and experimentation. Literature and the attempts to seize objects through language are all angles to approach and define objects in their complexity.
