L'art modeste

L\'art modeste Hervé Di Rosa - L\'art modeste
A manifesto of modest art.
In 1988, Hervé Di Rosa heard a child getting out of his exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, named it “modest Museum of Art.” Delighted with this confusion, he suddenly becomes aware of his taste for every day things: gadgets, action figures, kites, billboards... So many things he wants to legitimize the presence within the art, in the street, into museums: an art which rejects nothing and can be undestood by everyone.
In L'art modeste, he proposes a colourfull definition of it, in twenty-six times. Looking like a manifesto, this book is added to the convictions of the artist who forged links between contemporary art and art trade, but also between artistic forms from other cultures and globalized liberalism. A huge outpouring of generosity to the communities he discovered in the world emerges of his work. Local artists and artisans are invited to participate in his projects and thus give new colors to his production. Beyond the search for the elsewhere and the mixing, Di Rosa invites the world to rediscover the charm of everyday life little things.
