This book takes as its starting with the question "What is a good poster?"' and then gradually drifts away from it as it unfolds, confronted with the complexity of this question that pertains to the truth, accuracy, functionality or even the good taste of a graphic work.
The text is the result of a series of interviews conducted at le Signe by Léo Carbonnet and Léonore Conte during a two-month residency; it can be read as a long sentence, a dialogue, or a quieter list of principles. In October 2025, it was enhanced with visual documentation extracted from leSigne's poster collection, selected, and presented as visual inserts by the students of the DSAA in Graphic Design and Mediation at the Lycée Charles-de-Gaulle in Chaumont during a workshop.
