A Comparative Dialogue ActThe Luxembourg Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale (book + vinyl LP)

Andrea Mancini, Every Island - A Comparative Dialogue Act
Consisting of a richly illustrated booklet and a record vinyl, this special release accompanies the performative sound-based project A Comparative Dialogue Act by artists Andrea Mancini and the collective Every Island, hosted in the Luxembourg Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale.
The 48-page booklet is a prequel to the exhibition titled A Comparative Dialogue Act, the Luxembourg Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale, and includes an introduction by Bettina Steinbrügge, Director of Mudam Luxembourg; a commissioned essay by writer and musician Dan Fox a curatorial statement by Joel Valabrega, curator of the pavilion; alongside a rich visual contribution by the commissioned artists.
The vinyl record was released to mark the end of the Biennale, capturing the essence of the sonic interventions which have unfolded in the pavilion space over the last six months. The pavilion is the result of a collaboration between Luxembourgish artist Andrea Mancini and the multidisciplinary collective Every Island and was conceived as an infrastructure for the transmission of sound.
The pavilion welcomed four guest artists at the Biennale—Selin Davasse, Célin Jiang, Stina Fors and Bella Báguena. Their creations were turned into an ongoing dialogue, now available as a vinyl record.
Andrea Mancini (born 1989) is a Luxembourgish musician and artist who lives and works in Brussels. His interdisciplinary practice explores the relationship between space, his subject and sound, using a variety of techniques including installations, video and performance. He is also active in the electronic music scene and has released several records under the alias Cleveland.
Every Island is a Belgian design collective based in Brussels. It was founded in 2021 by five designers who explore performativity in spaces through ephemeral architecture and installations. They use ambiguity as a design tool, and space becomes a scenography of transition and meaning.
