Writer Nicolas Tardy is an author associated with the 2022 exhibition season of La Kunsthalle Mulhouse. He immersed himself in the universe of three exhibitions, composed freely around the works and ideas he perceived there.
The Écrire l'art II series presents unpublished texts by authors associated with a cultural season. For more than 10 years, La Kunsthalle Mulhouse has invited author-poets to write a text around each exhibition presented at the contemporary art centre. Nicolas Tardy is an author associated with the 2022 exhibition season.
Nicolas Tardy, a French writer born in 1970, lives in Marseille. After studying art and multimedia, he devoted himself exclusively to poetic writing. This is rooted in a practice of montage that constitutes writing and enables him to integrate a variety of sources, both directly written and collected, considered without hierarchy. The question of representation—notably through ekphrasis, documentary poetry and novelization—is at the heart of his work. He publishes in a variety of print and digital media. Sometimes he collaborates with artists and musicians. He has been running writing workshops since 1999.
