Carlos Bernal Barrera was born in 1985 in Bogota, Colombia. He lives in Rennes, France since 2013. He studied at the University of Rennes 2 where he wrote his thesis

John Cornu for his Master's degree in Plastic and Poetic Arts in 2015. His artistic practice takes shape through drawing, video and sound. The artist questions modern certainties, the perception of time and gives an important place to chance. Carlos Bernal Barrera widely use repetition, as it is "revealing states of expectation of reflection and imagination".
