Music performance by Joe Jones's Solar orchestra recorded at a Erik Andersch's Garden party in 1983. This edition includes the reissue of a rare photographic book documenting the event, as well as a poster and a postcard.
On 26 June 1983, Joe Jones set up a solar orchestra in Erik Andersch's garden in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Guests were invited for a dinner party to listen to the orchestra. The music was recorded and the event documented by various photographs that were published as a book by Jones in 1987 in an edition of 15 copies. The audio recording remained unreleased.
This edition brings together the recording and an A4-sized reproduction of Jones' book. It is presented in a gate-fold PVC sleeve. Right-hand side holds the LP, left-hand side holds the book, a poster, and a postcard.

Joe Jones (1934-1993) is a New York musician and member of
Fluxus which he joined in 1963 after meeting
Dick Higgins and
Alison Knowles. Jones is best-known for being the inventor of the music machines, a set of mechanical instruments used during experimental performances. In 1972 he produced John Lennon and
Yoko Ono's album
Fly, and founded Fluxus Airlines with
George Maciunas. In the mid-eighties, Joe Jones also produced a series of computer-based short films called
Fluxus Homes Movies.
