A new series of oil paintings by Swiss artist which unveils the strange and wonderful aspects of common life.
Published following the exhibition “I Never Read”, at Art Book Fair Basel, from June 17 to June 20, 2015.
Table bombs, ice cream and balls of lights in nebulous doom and gloom: artist Gil Pellaton (born 1982, lives and works in Bienne, Switzerland) places his grotesquely twisted figures in imaginary scenes that hover between scenery-like reality and bizarre exaggeration. The large-scale oil paintings are dynamic and as specific as dreamlike worlds can be.
Pellaton's work was honored with the Anderfuhren Recognition Price in 2009 and the Swiss Art Awards 2010 - Kiefer Hablitzel Price. He exhibited at the Journal Gallery in New York and the Grand Palais in Bern.
