This book was envisioned as a visit to Cécile Paris's home/studio where we opened the cabinets full of boxes containing drawings, photographs, photomontages, assemblages and collages, all captured at real size threw the open scanner window, plunging us into the artist's poetics. In her studio, Cécile Paris has met with Edith Commissaire, Julie Desprairies and Peter Szendy to discuss her practice. Frank Lamy's words form the introduction of the work and those of Pierre Giquel punctuate the pages.

The book is accompanied by a free online application, downloadable on Apple Store and Google Play, the most appropriate tool for representing the artist's work as videographer.

Cécile Paris (Born in 1970, lives and works in Paris) is an artist who sweeps the field of our common spaces and through her films, photographs, collages and drawings, delivers a thousand possible interpretations, most often giving birth to a hypnotic strangeness where melancholy mixed with gentle rebellion hovers. Founder of the label Code de nuit ©, a community project, she often works in collaboration with musicians, dancers, or choreographers. Notably, her videos are included in the collections of the MAC/VAL (Val-de-Marne's Museum of Contemporary Art) in Vitry-sur-Seine, and the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (City of Paris' Museum of Modern Art).
