Saad Almasari

Saad Almasari (born 1953 in Al-Muzahimiyah, Saudi Arabia) is a multimedia artist and art educator. Rooted in the desert landscapes and vernacular architecture of his environment, Almasari's work transforms the visual principles of Islamic art, including repetition, proportion, light, and symmetry, into a contemporary language of abstraction. Across painting, sculpture, and ceramics, geometry emerges not merely as structure but as philosophy, a system of thought through which the artist explores unity, rhythm, and the metaphysical resonance of form. Angular planes and earthen palettes evoke Najdi architecture, while sweeping, calligraphic gestures introduce movement and warmth, creating a dynamic tension between precision and spontaneity.
