Anne Imhof (born 1978 in Giessen) is a German visual artist. Her
performance-oriented work also includes drawing, painting, music and installation. After training in Frankfurt am Main at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste-Städelschule, one of Germany's most prestigious art schools, while immersed in the city's club and music scene, the artist has quickly established herself as a prominent figure in contemporary art through her radical work. In 2017, she received the Golden Lion for the best pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
