Panorama reveals one of the principal artist work techniques Francesc Abad applies when arranging images, voices and elements.
Since 2003, Catalan artist Francesc Abad has dedicated himself to composing an index which compiles all the work processes throughout his career. Panorama, the third publication to be born of this index, is articulated around the conflictual dimension of the notion of landscape in an industrial and post-industrial context. At the same time, Panorama reveals one of the principal work techniques Francesc Abad applies when arranging images, voices and elements.
Initially self-taught, Francesc Abad (born 1944 in Terrassa) left the factory where he worked to study in the Escola d'Art i Oficis in Terrassa and the Centre de documentation pédagogique in Paris. In 1972 he spent time in New York. He participated in the Grup de Treball with critical actions against the final stages of the Franco dictatorship. Since then, the body, both as a subject of art and of daily life, and his own interaction with the landscape, have been the focus of Abad's artistic work and actions.
