This collective publication questions the
literary strategies at stake in the work of visual artist Yoan Mudry.
The idea of this book emerged while having a beer at Yoan Mudry's studio. This publication is divided into three parts, including the subjects: the intervention of Palaeolithic chickens, the
Westworld series, cryogenics,
N. Katherine Hayles and Edgar Morin—as a means to question the literary space at stake in the work of Yoan Mudry.
This publication is in response to a two parts performance presented by Yoan Mudry in the beginning of 2017 in Geneva. If sometimes the manufacturing of the books are imperfect it is because the binding was made by “gigantic shrimps”. And the first part of the publication comes from an exhibition catalogue that went through a paper cutter and was then attached to the second part. A text by the artist that is printed on the poster, along with the book, describes the entire process.
Published following the exhibitions “LOOPS”, Salle Crosnier, Geneva, from January 26 to February 25, 2017; and “Held Together With Water”, Le Commun, Geneva, from February 4 to March 11, 2017.
