Along with texts by Fanni Fetzer (Director Kunstmuseum Luzern), Dieter Roelstraete (Chief Curator Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago), and Chantal Pontbriand (freelance curator and critic, Paris), this monograph offers a complete overview of Dias & Riedweg's diverse and sprawling work for the very first time.
The book includes an illustrated chronology of their works, including personal notes written by the artists, allowing the reader to trace the path of their investigations over the last two decades.
Published on the occasion of Dias & Riedweg's exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Luzern in 2014.
Mauricio Dias (born 1964 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and Walter Riedweg (born 1955 in Lucerne, Switzerland) have worked together since 1993. While developing collaborative and socially engaged projects through an array of interdisciplinary means (video, performance, installations) they explore issues such as human subjectivity and otherness.
