Paul-Armand Gette - Textes très peu choisis
Like photograpy, drawing and videography, writing is a fundamental element of Gette's work. The numerous writings spanning thirty years of his artistic career, are presented as typed up articles for scientific reviews, book manuscripts, Forwards for catalogs... and make their point or provoke.
Paul-Armand Gette (1927-2024), after an early career in industry, decided to turn, in the early 1960s, to an artistic career, using his knowledge of botany and geology that he introduced into the space of art. An unclassifiable artist, he has played with categories, blurring the boundaries between natural science, literature, poetry, mythology and art history. Painting, sculpture, photography, text, all mediums are convened to propose us a singular reading of the world which surrounds us.
Foreword by Marie Lapalus.
