27 artists from 14 countries around a performance and interactive TV program.
The Rencontre internationale d'art performance et multimédia took place in Quebec City in 1996. This edition of the biannual performance festival integrated a media dimension in the form of interactive television, involving performers, video artists, editors and the public in a new, spontaneous form of media creativity. The event offered an original take on the relationship between action art and its mediatization, as well as questioning the capacity of video to convey the live reality of the particular artistic field that comes under the heading of performance art.
