La construction logique de l'architecture

Giorgio Grassi - La construction logique de l\'architecture
The first French translation of Giorgio Grassi's 1967 text La construction logique de l'architecture [The Logical Construction of Architecture] is a strong statement in favor of an architecture conceived for its own sake, standing in opposition to the experimental excesses characteristic of both his time and ours.
Drawing on the history of architectural treatises and theories since the seventeenth century, Grassi advocates for an autonomous, rigorous, and responsible discipline, capable of addressing the challenges of the territory and the urban phenomenon. This foundational text outlines the contours of an architecture understood as a practical theory, in which construction becomes the highest expression of thought.
Giorgio Grassi (born 1935 in Milan) is an Italian architect, architecture theorist and scholar.
Introduction by Carlos Martí Arís.
Afterword by Giorgio Peghin.
