Norbert Bugeja is Associate Professor in Post-Colonial Studies in the Department of English and Director of the Mediterranean Institute at the University of Malta. He is considered one of the country's leading contemporary poets and is the author of three collections of poetry in Maltese. His work has appeared in prestigious international journals, anthologies and edited volumes, and has been read and discussed at numerous literary festivals and international conferences. Bugeja, whose poetry has been translated into several languages, is also a member of the international Advisory Council of the Anna Lindh Foundation, and General Editor of the Journal of Mediterranean Studies.
