Asmus Tietchens' Hematic Sunsets shut down the Aroma Club with a final release. The album "Aroma Club Adieu" features 12 exquisite pieces of death lounge electronic pop performed on electronic organs and entertainment devices of various kinds.

Six great pop standards remembered: five pop songs are dissected by the duo of Helmut Schmidt and Jan Jelinek's sampler, stretched, compressed, and re-collaged. In this way, their identity is lost. What remains is a vague concreteness: flashes of déjà vu and remote echoes that evoke the original.

This publication is an adaptation of a public statement by art critic Annika Bender, the editor-in-chief of the Donnerstag-Blog, on why her blog was discontinued. Bender was in fact a fictitious character created by artists Dominic Osterried and Steffen Zillig. The two artists discuss why they deemed a certain form of masked critique important and necessary in our times.
